For the overwhelming majority of you, Freshers Week is going to be your first memory of being a student at university in London ? it?s important that we help to make it a good one!

When you arrive at Imperial in October, be prepared to be overwhelmed with invitations to events and parties being run all over campus by students, clubs, societies and halls of residence. CivSoc would like to use this opportunity to let you know now what activities we?ll be organising during the first week of term, so you can plan your time and know what to expect!

On Tuesday 3rd October, the annual Fresher?s Fair is where you can find out about all the clubs and societies at Imperial. Come and visit the CivSoc stand where you?ll be able to learn about our past events, see what we?re planning for the coming year and how you can get involved in the society. Why not also take part in our giant Jenga competition!

On Thursday, CivSoc and the Civil Engineering department will be running the 2006 Buddy Event - one of the biggest activities of the week. You?ll spend the time working in groups with second year students on a large scale civil engineering-related project. More details nearer the time, but this is shaping up to be a really fun and exciting afternoon.

In the evening, we?ll be organising the Four Bridges Pub Crawl in central London. This always proves to be a real highlight and is a great opportunity to get to know your fellow classmates as well as students from other years. The pub crawl is without a doubt one of the most popular evenings of the CivSoc year and is not to be missed!

Saturday 7th October will be the date for the first CivSoc Sports Event of the year. Fancy a game of football - or even just a chance to relax after your first week at Imperial? Then come along to Hyde Park!
