Four members of Outdoor Club escaped unscathed last week after crashing the Union Land Rover into a tree during a trip to the Alps.
It is believed that the vehicle was travelling at 30mph with good weather when the driver misjudged a corner on a winding road, crashing into a tree. The Land Rover was recovered by the RAC but is believed to be a write-off.
Union vehicles have an unhappy life - one of the new minibuses had its roof badly damaged in Sainsbury's car park shortly after it arrived. In previous years minibuses have been rolled and had wheels come off whilst on motorways.
No clubs appear to have the Land Rover booked, however contingency plans will be made should one be required.
