The review of the Division of Biomedical Sciences, currently in the Faculty of Natural Sciences, has concluded. Restructuring will take place from the start of next month, with most sections moving to the Faculty of Medicine.

The section for Biological Structure & Function will be split, with one part joining Engineering. The other sections will be scattered across Medicine, joining the Division of Surgery, Oncology, Reproductive Biology and Anaesthetics (SORA), the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI), and the Division of Investigative Science.

The Division of Comparative Medicine is to be disbanded, with some staff transferred.

Twenty-three staff were at risk of redundancy, including thirteen academics. Retirements and redeployments have brought this number down to seven staff including four academics.

Wasn't the BMS division only moved INTO Life Sciences as part of the 'restructuring' 2 years ago?

And what happens to the proposed BMS degree, does that move into medicine too?

We shouldn't be too surprised that a college restructuring has been reversed, its not the first time!
