Following the earlier publication of plans for this November's Lord Mayor's Show, it appears that Bo' may not be taking part. Although Bo' has successfully taken part in the parade in previous years, C&G Motor Club are not particularly keen on attempting it again. Paul Trompeteler, former Bo' driver, said that the parade is "too slow" for Bo' and that the clutch "gets knackered". The last two floats, in 1995 and 2000 have both seen Bo' hoisted on to the float itself.
However, this year's LMS Co-ordinator, Richard Tang, has confirmed that there will be no space to accomodate Bo' on this year's float. It is also understood that the Pageantmaster described putting Bo' on the float as "looking crap". So, for Bo' to take part Motor Club will actually have to run it in the procession.
Incoming C&GCU President, Mustafa Arif, said he hoped Motor Club could be persuaded to run Bo' and claimed that they were "warming" to the idea. Rob Cooper, a long serving Team Bo veteran claimed that Bo' would be absolutely fine in the Show, provided that extra fans were put into the engine (as was past practice).
Bo's troubles could also affect the other CCU mascots. It is believed that Mr Arif has taken a dim view of any ssuggestion that the RCSU and RSMU Motor Clubs could still be invited to particpate if Bo' is not taking part. Mr Arif was the first LMS Co-ordinator to invite the other CCU mascots, and has been criticised by some Guilds figures for doing so.
