The Central Library at Imperial College's South Kensington Campus is advertising for the new post of Marketing and Communications Manager. According to the Imperial College Website the person "will be responsible for providing a strategic and operational framework for raising the Library’s profile both within and outside Imperial College."
The new position will have line management responsibilities over the Library's "Marketing and Communications Officer" and will have other responsibilities such as managing the "Library Brand" and identifying opportunities for media coverage (well here's one you got for free).
At Level 4 on Imperial's pay scale the new employee will be receiving an annual salary of between £39,810 - £48,290. Live! wonders how many new text books the library could invest in for that much money as opposed to paying somebody to tell us what the Library is there for.
