Following the departure of CGCU President Kirsty Patterson at the end of last term, The City & Guilds College Union, which represents all students in the Faculty of Engineering, is running an election for a new president. Voting for the election opens on Monday and runs right up until the end of Friday, so you have all week to cast your vote.
"Guilds", as CGCU is affectionately known, is also taking this opportunity to fill the role of Guildsheet editor, which has been vacant since the end of October, following the resignation of Lawrence Weetman.
There is only one candidate for each position, but remember: if you don't think that a candidate is up for the job then you can always vote for "Re-Open Nominations", or "RON", and the election process for that position will begin all over again.

Introduction
I'm Richard Bennett and I am a first year Information Systems Engineering Student. My interests include playing basketball, reading, computer gaming and chilling out in the union with my mates. I am also part of the Imperial Ice Hockey Club! I am also a friendly steward at the union on most Wednesday and Friday evenings!
Manifesto
For the few years prior to coming to Imperial I helped to edit and run a website for young people in Leicestershire, my home county. I would like to transfer the skills I learnt on editing this website, to working on Guildsheet. My aims are; to ensure an edition of Guildsheet is printed at least once a term, to promote the clubs and societies within CGCU and the societies that I believe engineering students may be interested in through the Guildsheet. I would also like to use Guildsheet to promote the CGCU events in a pro-active and lively manner. I will also work to recruit as many people as possible to write for Guildsheet. I shall encourage engineers to support Guildsheet and promote it?s existence to all CGCU members.
Voting is open from 00:01 on Monday 1st February until 23:59 on Friday 5th February. You can vote or stand for election at: www.cgcu.net/vote.
