Oh good. We've voted for a president with a disproportionately small penis. Go us.

To everyone next year at Imperial, you'r screwed! It's a good year to be graduating... x

Mar 16 2010 00:55

The people who won this election are a guy who could probably do the job of DPFS tomorrow if needed, a guy who could have done the job of felix editor a year ago never mind now, a president who is exactly the kind of person that we want representing imperial to the outside world (charming, not weird, kind etc etc awesome), a girl who actually has an interest in helping clubs and societies unlike the other candidates and a DPE and DPW who are yet to prove themselves but could hardly do worse than the present officers.

so imperial's hardly screwed, this election could have turned out with a catastrophic sabb team but instead we've got an enthusiastic and experienced lineup

dicks

At the end of the day no amount of experience can match what you get in Sabb training.

"Abused his position as hall senior to sleep with Freshers" ?? LOL

It's not like freshers are 12 years old, how is that ABUSING your position?

15. @14
Mar 16 2010 11:15

Position of trust with people who are away from home and in a potentially vulnerable position.

An abuse of a trusted position is an abuse of a trusted position, no matter what age the people are.

Unless you believe that hall seniors are hired by college to improve their sex life?

16. @15
Mar 16 2010 11:21

I don't remember ever reading a rule that you can't sleep with freshers when you are a hall senior.

And I was one for 2 years.

17. @16
Mar 16 2010 11:44

Do you really feel that it is right that someone in a position of trust should do that? Really? That a pastoral care position should be used specifically to sleep with people who have only just left home. It looks seedy, and I don't really see how you can argue it isn't.

Whether there are rules against it or not doesn't make it any more or less of an abuse of position.

It is not against the rules of the position of DPFS to fast track through your friends' claims. But I would be unhappy to find Ravi doing it. By my reasoning I would consider this an abuse of position. By yours, it is perfectly fine.

@17 I think it would be wrong for a sub-warden or warden to do that with a Fresher, but Seniors are just 1 year different from the freshers and are at the same university, so end up being in the same social groups as the freshers, it's pretty inevitable that it'll happen sometimes.

Seniors are not really involved in pastoral care - that's what the wardens are for. All seniors do is organise parties and the social stuff in the hall.

I don't think it's wrong, unless they are specifically getting freshers wasted so they can sleep with them whilst they are incapacitated, in which case - that would be a criminal offence and the police should be involved.

ffs, since when did Imperial become a den of Daily Mail-esque conservatism? He met his girlfriend when he was a Hall Senior, big deal. maybe you should spend less time bitching on live! and go back to furiously masturbating on chatroulette

Maybe Andrew Bromfield will beat Ravi up to protect the honour of innocent and helpless first year students 'away from home for the first time boo hoo"

Mar 16 2010 16:41

@20 Even if that's true, until they introduce compulsory drug testing as a requirement to work as a Sabb, that issue is irrelevant.

Mar 16 2010 18:18

I just think Ravi's a c**t.

27. Erm?
Mar 16 2010 19:23

@26

Great argument right there

Mar 18 2010 11:51

better than YouTube

29. hoax
Mar 18 2010 17:50

The moon landing was a total hoax - just another excuse for the Imperialist US government to invade Iraq

30. Hooray
Mar 19 2010 10:18

You're all right of course. Asking if an irresponsible candidate is correct for a role of responsibility is indeed comparable to moon landing conspiracies.

And I guess expecting my Felix editor to um... edit... this year was too ambitious too.

Or the DPE to have something concrete in her manifesto beyond "READING WEEK GUSYS!".

How dare I expect some sort of standards from the people who are needed to run our union successfully.

Mar 19 2010 15:46

... and need to have so fun fun fun in the sun sun sun!

32. shame
