City & Guilds College Union finally recovered its second normally violate mascot 'Bolt' today, after it has spent more than a year in the hands of the RCSU. A £150 ransom of C&GCU RAG money to the RCSU total was the price finally demanded by the sneaky scientists who acquired both 'Bolt' and its companion 'Spanner' in dubious circumstances.
The aftermath of the RCSU 'acquistion' of Spanner and Bolt saw a stricken C&GCU declare RCSU President Jason McKee a violate C&G mascot - although no attempts were ever made to steal him. Spanner was eventually recovered just over a year ago but Bolt slipped through the net. The aftermath of these events saw Spanner declared inviolate, supposedly only for the duration of the CGCA dinner (though it remains inviolate).
The future of the C&GCU mascotry team is uncertain, though one member has already suggested engraving "Faculty of Engineering" on to the back of Spanner.
