Tomorrow is the 675th Lord Mayor's Show and the college will be attending for the third consecutive year. The presence of the float, organised by the City & Guilds College Union, at the show was in doubt when the main constituent, a forty-foot lorry, did not turn up at the beginning of the week. Months of preparation by co-ordinator Shrenik Patel seemed to be in vain, until this morning.
A last minute change of plan involving a chat with Faculty Principle, Professor John Perkins, secured a lorry that was delivered early this morning. The bare lorry needs to be turned into a stunning float overnight. This is to involve banners, sound, lighting, flame machines, a birthday cake and Bo' as the centrepiece.
The float, celebrating Bo's centenary, will leave for the City of London early tomorrow morning. The show will start at 11am with a three-mile long parade snaking through the financial district of London. The show will be broadcasted live on BBC1.
There is still time for you to help or join in tomorrow.
