390127 people in England & Wales have Jedi as their religion. Areas of high student population have the most Jedi fanatics.
Results from the 2001 Census reveal that the “campaign” to get people to put Jedi down as their religion in the “Ethnicity & Religion” section of the Census seems to have paid off. Well only making up less than one per cent of the total does have its benefits: religious minority representation, for example.
However, the beauty of the Census (and all statistics for that matter) is they can be manipulated to suit the individual. In this case, the Census has decided that the Jedi respondents have “no religion”, and as such have been cast into the godless 15 per cent or so.
Results can be viewed at the Census website and specific Jedi numbers from here
It is interesting to note that the Prime Minister’s constituency, Sedgefield only has 153 Jedi fanatics. Has the Dark Side of the Force had something to do with this?
