A failure of some kind of ”storage unit” has led to a loss of email for many people at IC. Whilst who is affected depends which Microsoft Exchange server your account is hosted on, this seems to include all the union staff and sabbaticals, along with various officer’s email accounts.
The latest news on an update on the ICT web site is that the hardware problem is now fixed and services are being restored though full services including all file systems etc, may take until 10am on Wednesday to get back as normal.
Some may think it lucky for them that certain departments, amongst others have been unaffected by all this, and have enjoyed the use of their email regardless, though it has been rather quiet without people else where in college to email.
The email failure has made union life harder resulting it would seem in Exec papers being even later than normal, as minutes and papers could not be emailed to the president for collation, and he then couldn’t email out one-big-ugly-Word-document(TM) to the exec members.
