Sen Sure fails to support RAG

After all the Guildsheet hype, Ganesh fails to see what goes on behind the scenes at International Night.
The sort of thing that happens after the show.

After buying a new suit to meet the Queen (in which he later got flanned) President Sen Ganesh was unable to afford to buy himself at the City and Guilds RAG Slave Auction, as he has done in previous years. Instead a group from a certain notorious society managed to out bid Mr Ganesh.

After several years of trying to find a Sabb in this position, it was decided that Mr Ganesh should help take down and remove back to the union the various “technical infrastructure” which is installed into the Great Hall for such an event. It was thought he would welcome this opportunity having been involved in many other aspects of the event in past years.

Following the event, which saw acts from many of the Overseas Societies and this year no fire alarm (just fire jugglers instead), a happy audience and cast departed for the after show party in the MDH, whilst the technical team played (some unusually quiet for them) music, and then proceeded to clear away, assured that Mr Ganesh would soon join them.

Mr Ganesh was notable by his absence during the rest of the “night”, Live! hears that he unfortunately met some friends, “and was somewhat intoxicated”. The purchasing syndicate must now decide what to do with their “slave” with very few opportunities for useful employment between now, and the end of his office.

Live! looks forward to hearing that RAG receives its cash.

As Rag secretary and overall supporter of slavery, I find it unacceptable that slaves don't do what they're asked to. Shame on Sen, especially since the purpose of the purchase was made very clear at the auction.

Also, does anyone have any good ideas what humiliating things to let slaves do? I sorta bought more slaves than I really need...

Yeah, get Sen to sort lights and equipment for the SUMMER BALL for DRAMSOC!

Thats a fantastic idea frank except for one fundamental flaw - DramSoc are not involved in the Summer Ball this year.

I believe the article refers to a lack of oppurtunity for DramSoc (i.e. a lack of summerball) to utilise their slave after his no-show and so he may well have to foot the £160 bill himself in forfeit.

I believe there should be a buy out cost on top of the original auction price if Sen is to forfeit(and this should be at the buyers discretion), afterall what proof is their that the syndicate would not have gone higher. We don't want to set a precedent with this being a cheaper option to trying to out bid the opporsition in a effort to save yourself...and robbing rag in the process!!

Why don't they just trade him in to the union so they can make him clean up after a wednesday night in the union? mmmm.....spilt snakebite.....

While you're at it perhaps you could ask him for the £100 he still owes us from last year's Slave Auction?

Perhaps the hit squad should be out doing special hits on slaves who didn't perform their duties...

How long do we have him for? I have a job that I have wanted doing for ages.

It involves the grid (a lovely plank and girder affair, about 8m above the floor), a hoover, a brush, and 80 years of dust (comprised, I should imagine, of the most interesting things).

It would make my life working up their so much cleaner. It would also make me happy in a sadistic way.

I believe 2 hours is the usual tariff. Lots of dusting can be done in 2 hours ;o)
