The results of the Imperial College Union sabbatical elections were finally announced early this morning.
ICU President-elect Mustafa Arif and a strange creature of some kind.

The ICU sabbatical elections finally came to a close this morning when returning officer Sen Ganesh announced the results at around 2:45am.

After weeks of controversy in the Presidential race, Mustafa Arif was finally elected President of Imperial College Union for 2003-2004. In the first round Mr Arif led by 574 votes against 391 for Andrew Shore, his nearest competitor and following reallocations Mr Arif was elected with 663 votes to Mr Shore's 506. Ameet Bhakta, controversially reinstated to the race at Monday's ICU Council, polled 295 votes in the first round. A surprisingly high 1394 votes were cast in total.

Deputy President (Finance & Services) narrowly went to Mike Moate, with 518 votes against Richard Vodden's 483. Deputy President (Clubs & Societies) went to Richard Walker, with 686 votes against Gurvinder Singh's 470. Katherine McGinn was elected as Deputy President (Education & Welfare), easily defeating New Election.

The race for Felix Editor was also closely fought, with Alex Warren being eliminated in the second round with 287 votes and Alex Coby eventually claiming the title with 556 votes to 533.

Ah the infamous Medic block vote. The thing that has all candidates quaking in their boots. Think the Medic block vote was split. A bit like schizophrenic sheep wondering through the hinterland.

WELL DONE MUSTAFA!
