An ‘anti-fees’ banner displayed from Beit was removed this morning by College security.
The banner displayed on Commemoration Day 2003

The banner, which displayed the slogan "Hey Sykes! union.ic.ac.uk/no2fees ", was seen hanging from the side of Beit overlooking the steps up to the Royal Albert Hall this morning. Later this morning these steps were filled with graduates, parents and College dignitaries attending the Commemoration Day ceremony however the banner was forcibly removed prior to their arrival, being ripped in the process.

A similar banner appeared at last year's Commemoration Day in a similar location, bearing the slogan "10k Fees? Get Real!". This remained up for the duration of the day before disappearing as mysteriously as it had appeared.

Top-up fees are a hot topic,,174-866308,00.html in politics at the moment. ICU attended the NUS march to protest against fees last Sunday in support of its policy opposing top-up fees.

the spectrum website gives details how as imperial students we should display what we are like (our personality) what we value and how we express it.

It's a great shame some students haven't yet been able to act upon these guidelines leaving us no option but to send in the thought police. Rogue students can be detained without charge indefinitely. You have been warned
