Faculty Ban On Hit Squad

Faculty of Engineering Banned Hit Squad In All Engineering Departments
Recent Hit On Aaisha Latif, C&GCU Vice President (Finance and Societies)

The notorious C&G Hit Squad has been a crucial ingredient of ICU RAG since as long as we can remember. Last year, Hit Squad raised roughly £500 for charity. And most of us will probably recall the Sir Richard Sykes, Rector of Imperial College, agreed to be flanned for £150 at Wye College. In the past, ICU and C&GCU Presidents were also among the hot targets.

This year is no exception. Chris McIver was appointed to co-ordinate the Hit Squad. Hopes were high to raise more money for charity. However some Heads of Department have shown discontent to such approach for RAG. Having had some careful considerations, the Faculty Exec decided to prohibit any flanning within any lecture theatre or department.

"Faculty certainly has every right to ban Hit Squad. However I feel that this means we will just have to have more fun in other areas of the college" explained a senior C&G spokesperson. Several hits have taken place already at events such as hustings and International Night. Anyone who wishes to place an order can visit the Guilds Office, room 340 in the Mech Eng building, during lunchtime or contact Chris McIver.

There are other C&GCU RAG events which have been organised: Party on the Lawn on Monday, RAG Raid on Wednesday, and the Barbershop Quartet and Hit Squad will be active for the whole week.

So even if a lecturer has already agreed for someone to be pied in a lecture in an Engineering dept. it's not allowed to happen?

Shame

Why? Are we hitting her again?

Feb 15 2004 11:29

"Hit squad banned", of course they will ban all the fun stuff in college, that's how they killed off pretty much all the fun RAG stuff....but does today's hit squad obey rules?

Feb 15 2004 14:20

The Druids don't, so why should the Hit-squad.....

Feb 15 2004 14:44

bring back proper Rag mags!

though judging by the respect that is had for the freedom of the press it'd get banned immeadiately anyway.

*sigh*

Exactly, resist da Authoratah Hit Squad, answer to no-one!

Feb 15 2004 17:58

I think you are right. A decent RAG mag would be a good thing.

As for the Hit squad being banned. We don't want to draw attention to the fact that we go against a faculty decition.

However, after the Hit pictured above..........

Be warned!

Don't worry, there will be a RAG mag before the end of term. It would be nice though if someone would offer to help me write it!

Dont worry Aaisha...Hit Squad will strike again when you least expect them to.

The hit has been ordered!!!

Bring it on. I'm not scared of the Hit Squad... Just so long as my coat stays out of the mix, I don't really care!

I'm more worried about the slave auction. Tim, if you think for one second that a repeat of last year is in order, then you're sorely mistaken!

Oh, and Shrenik, I'd order a hit you, but I already did that for free after the above picture. Sorry... :)

Hear, Hear,

I do not fear the Hit Squad. I just feel that I should challenge the students to raise the money. After all I'm ?70 a hit (someone paid his "protection" money).

MORE FOR RAG!

Feb 18 2004 19:36

If you're lucky Ed, you're going to raise more money than Sen last year (?150)

And apologies for your drink spillage last night, which was partially caused by us.
