It has come to light that C&GCU mascots, Spanner & Bolt, are missing. On arrival at the CGCU office at 9:30am this morning, John Collins, found the main doors on the latch, and the two items missing. Live! were alerted by a member of the secretly guarded Trojan Horse Organisation (responsible for looking after the mascots), and reached the scene to find the President in floods of tears.
The theft of the two mascots comes only 12 hours since new doors were installed in the main office. Aaisha Latif, Vice President (Finance & Societies), told live that “The Trojan Horse organisation have checked the key list for the office, but appears that students who were in the office the night before did not double lock the doors as normal”. This fatal security lapse comes days after a previous Hon Sec alerted the management committee to the fact that the other set of doors had been left open overnight.
The disappearance of Spanner & Bolt will add suspicion onto the possibility of an insider working for the college within the CGCU organisation. A source who asked not to be named, told Live! that “there is a distinct possibility that the RSM CSC could be involved this time, with the sole purpose of trying to create a rift between the Guilds and Mines Engineers”. The RSM CSC President was unavailable for comment; this may or may not have something to do with last night’s RSM CSC bar night.
Whatever the reason for the disappearance of Spanner and Bolt, one thing is clear – It appears Mascotry is well and truly active again…
