The C&G Events team have confirmed that C&G Egg Race 2002 will be taking place this Wednesday afternoon as advertised.
The Egg Race requires teams of 5 people to build a device that will carry an egg from the Queen’s Tower to the ground safety. This is made slightly trickier by the fact the teams have to make the flying device from materials supplied by the C&G Events team.
If you haven’t seen the posters, or been given a flyer by one of the events team, then here is a brief description of what will be happening:
1pm - Meeting for all teams in Mech Eng 220 Lecture Theatre, for an introduction to the Egg Race from Imperial College’s resident world-authority on paper aircraft Andy Chipling. This is followed by free food and soft drinks for all entrants. After some time to build the egg carrying devices, they will then be tested from the Queen’s Tower! A paper Aircraft competition will be held after the main egg race competition.
Tickets are £5 for a team of 5 for the Egg Race, and £1 for the paper Aircraft competition afterwards. If you want to buy a ticket then either go to Waterstones, ICU reception, the Guilds office (Mech Eng 340), or on the day (but the availability may be limited nearer the time!). If you have any questions then go to the C&G Office, or e-mail: [email protected].net
