Updated: Boris has it
Londoners are still waiting with baited breath for an official announcement of the results of the London elections, twenty five hours after voting closed. While all other local elections have declared their results, London is still churning through an electronic counting process, some three hours after results were due.
Although officials have blamed "higher than expected turnout" for the delays, Live! can exclusively reveal that the reason for London's tardiness is their choice of consultant. An unnamed source has told Live! that Imperial College Union was drafted in at the last minute, to ensure voters remained tense while waiting for find out if they'd kicked Ken out/kept Boris out. ICU is internationally renowned for its farcical elections, however has lost the top spot in the "most ridiculous election" top 10 to Zimbabwe.
Sadly no stupid complaints have been sent in, so ICU's ability to drag election results out for weeks has been limited - results are due shortly after midnight.
