Students caring after the 1902 James & Browne car that has been the mascot of the City & Guilds College Union for the past 75 years have just completed a re-paint of the vehicle, transforming him from red to green - just in time for their summer tour to the Isle of Wight!
Boanerges, or as he is lovingly referred to - Bo', has been at Imperial College since 1934, when the students of the City & Guilds College purchased him for the princely sum of £40.
He has been looked after by students throughout his life at Imperial College, being passed down through the generations of students that pass through the Faculty of Engineering.
The car has traditionally been painted red and white, the colours of the City & Guilds College Union, so the colour change might come as a shock to some students and alumni.
Going green isn't as easy as a simple repaint where Bo' is concerned, however. Students maintaining the vehicle estimate that he has a fuel consumption rate of around 16 miles per gallon, so they are currently looking into converting Bo's engine to allow them to use alternative fuels.
Bo', who enters the annual Veteran Car Club run from London to Brighton, will set off on a seven-day trip to the Isle of Wight and back this Tuesday, where they will attend the Island Steam Show with "rival" mascot vehicles Jezebel and Clementine.
Students interested in helping to maintain Bo', and run him around London whenever possible, should look out for him at the Freshers' Fair in October.
