Two packs of 5 freshly-baked quality cookies. Mmmmm. Is it too much to ask for?
Those who know me well know that my Friday afternoons are usually spent during an "extended lunchtime" at the Sir Alexander Fleming Building?s caf?. The main reason for this is not because the food is particularly nice (or that I enjoy getting ripped off) but the freshly-baked cookies on sale are actually quite good.
Not content with criminal price-rises they have now resorted to burning the cookies before selling them to further reduce the value on offer. The stuff they were serving last Friday had a texture more akin to rye cracker-bread than a cookie.
After my friends and I had got munched through half of this shoddy-quality stuff I decided I?d had enough and went up to the counter to demand a full refund. Surprisingly they actually gave in. They also put some fresh cookies in the oven and seemed relieved when I didn?t complain after buying from this new batch half an hour later.
So, it?s not all bad. But they shouldn?t have been serving burn cookies in the first place. And it still doesn?t justify the price increases!
