Want to thrash the US Marines?

Oct 29 2001 19:22
C&G Rugby Club set to start another ?Action packed? season.
C&G Rugby thrashing the RCS in a previous Sparkes' cup final.

City & Guilds College Rugby RFC is for people who take the social side of their Rugby as seriously as the competitive side. This year lots of fixtures have been planned, together with the Club?s new sponsors, Walkabout Bars.

Fixtures currently planned include matches against the US Marine Corps, University of London Officer Training Corps (more army types) and other Universities/Colleges throughout England.

Near the end of the season C&G Rugby will focus their attention on beating the RSM, RCS and Medics to retain the coveted Sparkes Cup. This will be followed, in the Easter holidays with our annual tour, which this year is to Wales.

If you are interested in playing or supporting C&G rugby this year then do not hesitate to contact the Club Captain, Richard Roberts at . Anyone is welcome to come along and play no matter what level you are at. (Remember C&G play at a ?more social? level than ICU Rugby.) Training is on Monday evening?s ? meet at the union at 1800.

I can understand you having to divert attention towards training for Sparks Cup later in the year - after all, the RCS team is quite formidable this year. It'll take a lot of training if C&G are to have any hope of winning the cup at all.
